Dear Esteemed Professional CA Members,

It is with immense gratitude and a deep sense of purpose that I accept the role of Chairman for the Melbourne Chapter of ICAI for another term 2025–2026. This opportunity is both an honor and a responsibility, and I am committed to serving our vibrant community of Chartered Accountants with integrity, inclusivity, and innovation.
As we embrace this new beginning, I extend my sincere gratitude to the previous committee and leadership. Their dedication and vision have laid a resilient foundation—one that empowers us to build boldly, aim higher, and serve our community with renewed purpose.

The current committee of 2024-25 has embarked on this journey and will be closely looking at targeting areas, few of which is highlighted below:

CA. Sujeesh Vijayan T

Our Vision for 2025–2026

This year, our committee is focused on creating meaningful impact across five key pillars:

Professional Development & Knowledge Sharing

We will continue to organize high-quality CPD sessions featuring thought leaders and industry experts. Our goal is to foster a culture of continuous learning and provide opportunities for members to share their expertise and grow together.

Member Engagement & Inclusion

We aim to deepen our connection with members through targeted engagement initiatives. A dedicated subcommittee will focus on identifying needs, curating relevant activities, and ensuring that every member feels heard, valued, and involved.

Mentorship & Career Navigation

Recognizing the challenges faced by new migrants and those seeking career transitions, we will launch an enhanced mentoring and buddy program. This initiative will connect members with seasoned professionals for guidance, support, and networking.

Strategic Collaborations

We will strengthen our relationships with CPA Australia and CA ANZ, exploring joint events, CPD sessions, and collaborative forums. These partnerships will help us amplify our voice and expand opportunities for our members.

Additionally, we aim to build new partnerships with leading businesses and leadership networks to expand opportunities, foster innovation, and elevate the visibility of our Chapter across industries.

Community, Culture & Celebration

Beyond professional engagements, we will host family-friendly events and cultural celebrations to nurture camaraderie and joy within our community. These moments of connection are vital to the spirit of our Chapter.

To guide us, I draw inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita:

“Jayo’smi” – I am Victory
(Chapter 10, Verse 36)

Victory is not just a destination—it is a reflection of our determination, our values, and our collective spirit. Let us embody this truth as we strive to elevate our Chapter and our profession.

Warm Regards

Sujeesh Vijayan T
